I'm not exactly sure where the idea to try out Sleek MakeUp came from, but on I went and placed an order on their website. I browsed through everything the store had to offer, added several items to my shopping cart, and finally reduced them into these three items.
I got the Limited Edition i-Divine eyeshadow palette in Sparkle 2. Now I have no idea what the original Sparkle set included, since it was no longer available, but this one had quite dark, earthly shades with lots of glitter and shimmer in them. According to the website all of the 12-shaded palettes include a (matte)black for lining your eyes and 11 shades according to each colour theme. Sparkle 2 includes Twinkle and Starry Night that look like the night sky, natural brown shades Chocolate Penny and Truffle, glittery white Tinsel, and pinkish-purplish Festive and Illusion. All are quite natural shades, just with plenty of shimmer and glitter. They seem to be quite nicely pigmented and so far I'm liking the palette.
I also bought the New Skin Revive foundation and automatically clicked on the palest shade available (Linen). When the parcel arrived, I was super surprised to discover that this one was Actually Pale without being purely white. We Finns tend to have a very light and pale skin, and most foreign brands don't offer foundation that's pale enough for Finnish skin. So naturally when buying a foundation from any store I opt to go with the lightest shade available without really testing it on too much. I'm just not used to this, and it's great to know there's options for every pale goth out there! :D The foundation feels really nice and creamy, so I'm going to use it mixed in with other darker foundations I have.
The third product I got is a bit of a 'why did I even buy this?' -type of thing: black Kajal that came in a black plastic lipstick-type of container. Kajal is a thick pen that you can use for lining your eyes or for a smokey eye look all on its own, since it isn't fully smudgeproof. I'm not really sure what to think of this, since it's quite thick to begin with. The site suggests that the pen be used in a 45 degree angle to retain shape. I haven't done a one-shade smokey eye in a while, so I've yet to test this to the fullest.
All in all, I'm quite happy with my order and the products. I really like the website, it's simple to understand, the pictures are good, shipping took only a few days (order placed on January 13th, parcel arrived Jan. 17th) and everything was well packed. I will be placing another order eventually, since the i-Divine Acid-palette left quite an impression on me, and I'd really like to try out a nice blusher. :)
